Photographer Note; This was my first "event" to photograph.  I was not hired or asked to photograph this wedding.  I actually asked the family (relation to my wife) if I could also shoot images of
the wedding.  The family already had a photographer booked for that day.  I was hoping to gain experience and get a taste of what it might be like to photograph a wedding.  It's not my intention
to become a wedding photographer right now, I just wanted to add to my photography experience.
I learned a lot!  These kind of photo sessions are a "one time deal", and if you don't get it right, you don't get to re-do... and there will be many people upset with you.  I found that above
everything else, you have to be prepared for everything possible.  Damn that "Murphy's Law"!  Most of what I shoot is with available light.  I have flashes for my cameras, but they don't get much
use.  The day of the event, my two cameras were all I carried along.  With the sun (beach shoot was at about 1pm) directly above us, it was difficult for me to get the right balance.  I have
reflectors too... I was regretting that I hadn't brought everything I needed.  I would have liked to have diffused the light on the wedding party during the ceremony too... the sun was bright on
them.  Thank goodness I shot everything in RAW format... it made it much easier for me to adjust during editing.  Since I wasn't "the" photographer, much of what I shot were candids... not posed
for me, but actually for the hired photographer.  I also had to pay attention that I wasn't getting in the photographers way.   I learned a lot, and despite all the shortcomings, I think I got a few
decent photos.  The wedding party seemed to be pleased with the photos.  If there is ever a next event like this, I'll be better prepared.
